World’s End, Cape Paliser, NZ

Spending the night on the southern most point of New Zealand’s North Island, with nothing between you and Antarctica is a windy experience.

The camper-van felt light it was going to tip over and just standing was a struggle, but the clear night skies were an amazing sight with Cape Paliser’s Lighthouse beam searching the heavens. I’m kicking myself for not taking the photo but ill just have to be content to remember it without sharing.

Rising before dawn to take on the 258 stairs leading to the lighthouse then scrambling up the rocky slope above to anchor myself in and await the rising sun I wanted to give a sense of the wind, height and amazing coast line that drops suddenly into the sea.
