Hidden Canyon

An amazing little canyon I found in the Aspiring National Park in New Zealand, caught a glimpse of what looked like an interesting creek/gulley while driving so pulled over and after 5 minutes of walking through some LOTR style forest (everything was covered in a foot of moss and tangled branches) we found this amazing canyon system. Cant wait to go back here in summer at some point and go for a swim and explore further.

A long exposure after a long day hiking in the Blue Mountains

Spent a day hiking in the Blue Mountains last week, was fantastic to get out of the city.

I needed a bit of a break before atempting the long walk back up to the car (why does the Blue Mountains have so many stairs) so I decided to play around with my 10 stop ND filter, this image was a 60sec exposure and a few atempts to get my composition right gave me enough time to prepare for the hike back, and i think the photo turned out pretty good, hope you like it.

4 Bronze awards at the Epson International Pano Awards

Received an emails a little while ago from the Epson International Pano Awards.

I entered for the first time this year and 4 of my images received Bronze awards.

Very happy with that result!

Check out the images below, I took all of these last April (2012) during a 10 day birthday/photo holiday caravanning around South Island New Zealand with my wife, had a great time (another blog post to come) exploring and taking photos everyday.
